Contract: Webstar Plus (Ecommerce site and Forum)
Brief: Sugaplum Shop are a successful online company selling underwear designed specifically for teenage girls. With a new product range in development the website needed to be updated to make maintenance easier, and also to introduce new sales and reporting features. We liaised closely with the client and at our suggestion the site now incorporates an online forum, which helps to engage customers and create a more personal touch.
Solution: Sugaplum Shop had outgrown their existing website, so they approached Rija Group to provide an exciting, fresh approach which reflects their values and aspirations. The new website combines subtle colour combinations with powerful, yet unobtrusive marketing messages, which have combined to make an attractive and effective website. The new website has been designed to be fun for both teenagers and their parents, and even features a header image which changes depending on whether it’s day or night time!
The new website consists of an online shopping cart, which is easy to update and maintain, several CMS (Content Management System) pages (Customer Services, About Us etc) and a separate Forum section. We maintain daily backups of the website and product database, so should anything go wrong, we can always restore the shop in good time. Sugaplum Shop is very much an online enterprise, so all contact is encouraged to be via email – an online form is easily filled in and sent.
As well as designing and hosting the website, we have also been charged with maintaining and updating the site’s content. This mainly involves adding new products, with images, text descriptions and ‘product options’ – size, colour etc. The back-end of the site is, however, quite simple to use and simple price changes etc can be routinely performed by the site owner.
When an order is placed on the Sugaplum Shop site, the site owner receives email notification, which is sufficient for full order processing – in addition to this, by logging into the back-end of the shop, a plethora of tools are available for managing orders, returns, customer contact and marketing activities. Much of the information can be displayed as graphs and tables, which makes analysing sales trends and marketing efforts a pleasure.
